August 20th, 2010 patrick No comments
Wish you could use the new Facebook Places?
Don't have an iPhone?
No problem!

Things you will need.

- Internet browser (FireFox or Chrome)
- A extension for useragent switching
- A Facebook Account
– An Internets connection

Step 1. Installed the Extension for your browser.

FireFox – https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/59/developers
Chrome – https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/aafciojnlamllgpkpdkbamkfgbofhgcj

Step 2.  Change the useragent to iPhone 3.0

Step 3. Go to Facebook.com/places

Step 4.  Facebook will then attempt to pull information to figure out where you are. Just click "Share Location".

Step 5. Check-in!

Netflix on iPhone 4 iOS 4.0.1

August 19th, 2010 patrick No comments
What I did was google “Netflix on iPhone 4″

This is what I found.

Requirements:

  • Jailbroken iPhone 4 (iPhone 4 [iOS 4] Jailbreak)
  • Open SSH
  • Netflix for iPad via App Store [Free] + Netflix subscription
  • Perfect Browser [$0.99] via App Store

Instructions:

  1. Open iTunes
  2. Download Netflix for iPad
  3. Right click the Netflix for iPad app and select “Show in Finder” [Mac] or “Show in Windows Explorer” [Windows]
  4. Rename the file extension from Netflix 1.0.4.ipa to Netflix 1.0.4.zip
  5. Extract Netflix 1.0.4.zip somewhere on your Mac or PC
  6. Navigate to the “Payload” folder within the zip you have just extracted and find the Netflix.app folder.
  7. Copy the Netflix.app to your iPhone 4 using your SSH client of choice.
  8. Navigate (using SSH) to /private/var/stash/Applications
  9. Change permissions on the Netflix.app to 755. You can change the permission in terminal using the following command “chmod -R 755 Netflix.app”. This step may vary slightly depending on your SSH client of choice and the way in which it allows you to change permissions. In Cyberduck (Mac), for example, you can simply click “Go-Open in Terminal App”.

“Note: If you use the Terminal app on the iPhone to change permissions, make sure to run “su root” or else you will get this error: “Terminal problem. (operation not permitted)”

10. Respring (restart) your iPhone 4.

11. Now all you have to do is download the Perfect Browser app from the App Store and select “Safari iPad” viewing mode as shown in the image below. You can do this by selecting the wrench/tool icon, clicking “desktop rendering”, and choosing “Safari iPad”.”

I messed up by not chmoddding all the contents of  netflix.app. But I’m all set now!! Movies at work, on the can, on the road! Or all of the above for the skilled!!! ( I don’t have them skillz)

CustomizeGoogle 0.76 for Firefox

December 2nd, 2009 patrick No comments

935CustomizeGoogle is a Firefox extension that enhance Google search results by adding extra information (like links to Yahoo, Ask.com, MSN etc) and removing unwanted information (like ads and spam). All features are optional and easily configured.
“Tweaks google for better performance and helps keep google from creeping on you.”

This extension is great because it removes the tracking links from things like google search and gives you extra tweaks for google.
It betters your google experience and also helps with your privacy.

Google is my life.

September 3rd, 2009 patrick No comments

I just got done checking my Gmail and noticed that my dad wanted me to send him my class schedule. Im thinking I don’t even know it. So I go to my schools site and I pull it up. Now I want it on my iPhone, BUT I wanna say at my pc. So I added the classes to my Google Calendar which syncs to my iPhone. Then I check up on my site. Google Adsense and Analytics. See where my users are coming from then seeing how close I am to getting the cash for my books I need for college. After that I check my Google Reader and see if any of my favorite blogs (Lifehacker) have any new posts I’m into. Then lastly I sure the youtube.
Not to mention I do most of it in my Chrome.
My dad called me a Google-FanBoy the otherday. lolz

A Hidim turns a torrent into a regular PNG image

July 13th, 2009 patrick No comments

You save the png yourself. You can post it anywhere. People can decode it, but it can’t be searched for… it won’t turn up in searches for those torrents, unless you provide text that matches.

My brother asked me why this is cool. I told him its cool for if you wanted a torrent to not show up on google. Then he asked me why wouldn’t you. I was just thinking it was cool that it turned a torrent into an image.

You can sent your torrent files to their site http://hid.im and they have a decoder Firefox extention.
